Helping build a better relationship between you and your horse... |

"Want enthusiasm and people passionate about horse-human communication? Then let me tell you about Anna Blake and Melanie Smith! The in-hand trail clinic given by these two which I attended with my long yearling Andalusian colt was not only informative, but they made it fun, too! What I enjoyed most was that it was great to engage my horse's mind and to learn from two knowledgeable, patient and encouraging instructors like these gals. Anna and Melanie are both friendly and impart a sense of humor, but also constructively assist you in looking at a potential issue from more than just your 'own' point of view. Both ladies are active in the horse industry and are competent in about any given situation - I can't imagine that there is anything either one of them couldn't handle. I also have to add they treated each horse as an individual, helping to instill confidence in both handler and horse when needed. Bottom line, they will help you get great results...I'd go back to a clinic of theirs in a heart beat, and look forward to training with them in the future!" -Susannah and SL Fortuno I have met and worked with Anna Blake. She is a very passionate trainer, who loves horses. She really cares about her clients and has a very gentle way, sometimes humorous way, of instruction. She is not like some trainers who are intimidating and harsh with you, as well as the horses. I would highly recommend Anna. She knows what she is doing." -Susan Reeves Cope, Longmont, Colorado I am writing this from the perspective of an Occupational Therapist and a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. One of the first things that I noticed about these girls is that they had a great sense of humor, patience and a positive attitude. They divided the lesson/clinic into teachable segments and encouraged active involvement from the participants in the clinic. Their instruction was consistent and clear spoken in a kind tone of voice. They not only taught everyone what and how we were going to learn something but why. This is a very important quality of a horse professional involved in teaching. My overall impression of them is that they both demonstrated a mastery of horsemanship and teaching skills and would recommend them as qualified horse professionals. -Virginia Furness, OTR (Occupational Therapist Registered), American Hippotherapy Association Registered Therapist.
